Levindale Visitor Information

Location

Levindale is conveniently located on Belvedere Avenue off Northern Parkway, across from Sinai Hospital. Take the Northern Parkway West exit of the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83). MTA buses also stop across the street from Levindale on Belvedere Avenue.

Parking

Free parking is available in two visitor lots, with designated spaces provided for the handicapped. Escort service to the parking lot after dark may be arranged at the Information Desk in the main lobby.

Entrances

All visitors are asked to use only the main entrance of Levindale. They are asked to sign in, and get a visitors badge before each visit. Other entrances are for employees or emergencies. A separate entrance is provided for the Partial Hospitalization Program.

Visiting Hours

Visiting Hours vary depending on the nursing home unit and hospital floor. Please check with the nursing staff to find out what the hours are for any particular area.

Isolation Precautions

Families wishing to visit patients in isolation must see the nurse in charge of the unit before visiting the patient.

Visitor Health

Visitors with colds, flu or other communicable conditions are asked to refrain from visiting residents or patients.

Smoking Policy

To comply with federal, state and accreditation regulations, smoking is not allowed in any area of the building. There are prominent reminders of the “No Smoking” policy throughout the center.

Cafe

The Levindale cafe is open for breakfast and lunch on the following days and times:

Monday – Friday

  • Breakfast: 6:30-9 a.m.
  • Lunch:      11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Sundays

  • 11 a.m. - 2 p.m

There are also vending machines on the ground floor at the bottom of the main lobby steps and in the employee lounge, which are also located on the ground floor.

Chaplaincy Service

Jewish worship services are conducted Monday-Saturday and on Jewish holidays. Levindale’s chaplain is also available to residents, patients and family members for spiritual counseling when requested. Community clergy of all religions are encouraged to visit residents, patients and family members for spiritual guidance and counseling.

Support Group

A support group affiliated with the Alzheimer’s Association meets regularly at Levindale. The group provides guidance for caregivers who deal with the physical and emotional concerns of confused elders.
